Hospital Outreach

About Sing for Hope’s Healing Arts Hospital Outreach Program
Healing Arts brings live performance to patients in healthcare facilities, with special focus on elder care, rehabilitative, and palliative care facilities. Sing for Hope artists offer solo, ensemble and collaborative performances and workshops in patients’ rooms and in group recreation areas, tailoring performances to patients’ and care-givers’ needs.

Currently, Healing Arts provides uplifting performances and workshops at facilities including:

  • Coler-Goldwater Hospital
  • St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital
  • Kateri Residence
  • The Mount Sinai Medical Center – Healing Arts Concert Series
  • Palliative Care Unit at Mount Sinai Medical Center
  • The Children’s Hearing Institute
  • Omega House AIDS Hospice
  • Select pediatric healthcare facilities through The Art of Elysium
  • Select private homes through the Visiting Doctors program

Studies have shown that music in the hospital setting can:

  • Reduce blood pressure and heart and respiration rates
  • Decrease pain perception and levels of fear, stress and anxiety
  • Increase feelings of self-worth and overall well-being
  • Increase sense of control in situations that may feel depersonalizing or outside of one’s control *

Sing for Hope’s Healing Arts Hospital Outreach Program provides the gift of therapeutic music, complementing the healing process and providing respite, entertainment, and uplift for patients, families and caregivers.
