New Free App Puts SFH Pianos in Your Hands

News
June 1, 2016
The SFH Pianos are one of the most beloved signs of summertime in NYC: a symbol and celebration of art for all. Now there is a new tool to help New Yorkers and visitors alike find all 50 of the 2016 Sing for Hope Pianos: our #SFHPianos iPhone app. This is the second year that the Sing for Hope Pianos has featured a mobile app. Craver, a New York City-based company that helps people discover more culture they will love, developed the app for Sing for Hope pro bono because of a shared belief in making the arts accessible to all New Yorkers. The app makes it easier than ever to find and interact with the Pianos on the go. This year, the app has several exciting new features: Curated lists of pianos for you to visit. Individual pages for each Piano, including photos, upcoming pop-up concerts (including the options to book your own concert at the Piano), maps, and artist bios. Unique hashtags for each Piano – which the app makes it easy to share content directly to Facebook and Twitter, or by e-mail. Using the app, users can also explore the latest social buzz from Instagram and Twitter about the Sing for Hope Pianos, and, by popular request, a feature that allows users to schedule their own ,pop-up concerts on individual pianos and alert their friends about the events. The app allows users to discover special concerts by performers taking place at the pianos, and compete to win ,piano prizes, including a chance for one lucky musician to create their own studio recording with an acclaimed producer. We hope the app allows New Yorkers to discover pianos – and explore our beautiful city – from Castle Clinton at the tip of Manhattan to the Van Cortland House Museum in the Bronx, said Julia Levy and Ari Edelson, co-founders of Culture Craver. ,We were excited to create this app to help people explore one of our favorite NYC art installations. The app is available for free in the Apple store HERE, or by searching “SFH Pianos.”
