Artist Statement: My piano seems to have its own unique identity. It has a history, as shown on a plaque and the maker’s label. I will keep these and the piano’s hardware in tact. At this point, I plan to paint trees underneath the keys, festive feet dancing along the keys, clouds, and colors in rhythm with one another. I would also like to paint in a manner which highlights the details in the piano and, hopefully, allows it to shine.
