The Concord Conservatory of Music invites you to help celebrate two decades of music, education, and community.
In honor of the 20th Anniversary of CCM, we are launching Piano on the Town, a vibrant public art initiative produced in partnership with Sing for Hope. This spring, we are bringing the transformative power of the arts to the heart of Concord and West Concord, and we want your vision to be part of the celebration!
For twenty years, CCM has been dedicated to the belief that music should be accessible to everyone. Piano on the Town is a joyful expression of that mission: an open invitation for people of all ages to pause, listen, and play. We are seeking 8–10 local and regional artists to transform pianos into unique, playable works of art that reflect the character, history, and spirit of the Concord community.
Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $750 upon completion (artist teams will split the honorarium). Each artist will bring their vision to life in a collaborative studio space, joining a creative cohort dedicated to fostering accessibility and human connection through the arts.
Our selection committee is composed of local artists, business leaders, and community stakeholders dedicated to the cultural life of Concord. We are honored to have the following individuals reviewing this year’s proposals:
Sing for Hope Pianos is a global arts program that creates artist-designed pianos, places them in public spaces for everyone to enjoy, then transports and activates them year-round in schools, hospitals, and community centers worldwide. Sing for Hope has provided more pianos for under-resourced public schools than any other organization in the world.
This is the most important question of all, and the answer is a resounding Yes! The Sing for Hope Pianos are for everyone and anyone to enjoy. Have a seat and play — it’s all yours!
