Artist Statement: For the lid, I chose the traveler’s perspective literally–looking out at the sky. It’s hopeful. The traveler is on the way to visit family or friends. There’s a sense of happiness, joy, and love. I recently started to fly again and that’s exactly what I was feeling. The patterns and colors are my homage to flight attendants and all the people that take care of you on your journey. They deserve recognition for their efforts.
