Artist Statement: The Couturie Forest of City Park is one of my favorite places to relax in town. My hope is to capture the magic of the wooded path next to water and all of the little critters that live there. I’ve spotted the red golden pheasant there twice (probably escaped from captivity), which is the elusive colorful bird on the front.
Stephanie Reed grew up in a small town in coastal Maine and earned a visual art degree from Brown University with coursework at the Rhode Island School of Design. She received and MFA from the Maine College of Art in 2008. She has shown her work in both the Northeast and Louisiana. New Orleans has been her home and muse since 2010.
