Artist Statement:
A visual artist of different mediums, she draws artistic inspiration from architecture, geometry, and texture. When Jenna entered the education world, she immediately connected to the creative intuition of young children and she continues to find inspiration in their work. In 2013, Jenna traveled to Reggio Emilia as a part of the International Study Tour. In 2014 Jenna presented her work “Exploring Mysteries, An Ongoing Curriculum Using the Reggio Emilia Approach” at the UJA-Federation of New York’s Elaine Kramer Child Development Workshops. Most recently, she presented her work “Phenomena Made Visible: Materials to Understand and Interpret the Abstract” at the Teaching Beyond the Square Materials Symposium. Jenna holds a bachelor’s in art history from Hunter College, and a master’s in education from City College of New York.
