Artist Statement: I wanted this piece to tap into the part of New Orleans culture that I've always loved— and that's the use of grillz. I wanted it to be reflected through young children who're losing their baby teeth but they always smile. The background is meant to represent the part of life I grew up apart from— and that's the snow in Philadelphia. But funnily enough, when I designed this, it just snowed in New Orleans.
