Artist Statement: In New Orleans, our unsung heroes are the Emergency Medical Services. The hospitality workers who strive to provide excellent service to guests. The sanitation workers who wake up in the wee hours helping to make our city clean. The mentors who ensure the youth feel heard and seen. The teachers who stayed overtime at school creating a lesson plan. Even the lady who sings gospel for the people downtown. It's like a pot of gumbo; with all these ingredients, we can create something good!
