Artist Statement: The Sing for Hope Piano will feature a stunning base of gold and silver, adorned with vibrant rainbow figures on the front and colorful rainbow portraits on the back. These artistic elements symbolize the diversity of our great city, representing all genders, identities, and races. Through this rainbow piano, I celebrate the richness of our community, embracing everyone and showcasing the beauty of unity and inclusivity. Every detail reflects our shared strength and collective spirit.
Kate Fauvell is a contemporary artist who uses photography to understand and document the world. She holds a BFA from Binghamton and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Fauvell has exhibited solo at Binghamton University and Rush Arts Foundation, and in group shows at venues including The Painting Center, Odetta Digital, and Scope Art Fair. She has received numerous grants, including from the Pollock Krasner Foundation and the Gottlieb Foundation. Fauvell has participated in global residencies and currently resides in New York, balancing her career with raising her 6-year-old child, Matti.
