Artist Statement: For this piano I was inspired by the Manila shawl, a silk canvas embroidered with colorful flowers and animals. Of Chinese origin, it became very popular in Spain, my country of origin. A symbol of elegance, many painters used these shawls as inspiration in the past, such as Joaquin Sorolla. For this piano I have created symbols and colors in my style, and I have added the word HOPE. Conceptually, the idea is that this is a shawl of hope, and hence the title of the piece in Spanish "Mantón de Esperanza"
