Artist Statement: This Sing for Hope Piano Peace Is The Answer- Strasbourg, Peace Is the Answer, tells the extraordinary story of a piano that traveled from war-torn Mariupol to the heart of Europe. Rescued amid devastation, it became a messenger of hope, finding its new voice in Strasbourg — a city of peace, democracy, and connection. Together with Ukrainian refugee children, we painted symbols of resilience and unity: the Strasbourg Cathedral, the European Parliament, the city’s riverside houses, and a tram in the colors of Ukraine. Each brushstroke honors the Sing for Hope Piano’s journey from survival to song. Across the front, the words “Peace is the Answer” remind us that art can transcend borders and pain. This piano invites everyone to play, to listen, and to believe that through creativity and compassion, harmony is always possible.
