Artist Statement: Hues for Hope is based on my color palette and the stacked houses that I am best known for. The houses symbolize those changes whether the discussion is gentrification or the hope that is engrained in New Orleans regardless of tragedies like Katrina. (please note- houses will be placed strategically all over piano along with other elements of New Orleans)
Jay McKay ( @artby_jay) is a self taught Artist and Muralist from New Orleans, LA. The choice of bold bright color palettes mixing mediums of acrylic, oil and spray paint in his works that signal both joy and hope, while exploring subject matters of childhood nostalgia, love and the celebration of culture.
