Artist Statement: As a child, I owned an electronic piano. I was meant to practice on it, but I instead spent much of my time listening to one of the demo songs: a slow, simple piano version of "House of the Rising Sun." Despite being very young, the song touched me and repeatedly left me in awe of the beauty of it.
Well versed in oil and acrylic painting and inspired by both the natural world and literary fiction, she creates vistas that push the boundaries of dramatic color and scale. Myla Seabrook is influenced by the work of Albert Bierstadt and George Inness. She would like her art to evolve into work that maintains the realism of Hudson River School painting while drawing the viewer into fantasy realms that remind them to marvel at the breathtaking beauty of nature and its ability to recharge the spirit.
