Artist Statement: A celebration of the creature kingdom in all of its diversity is the theme for this year’s piano. From ladybugs to elephants, the piano will be covered with creatures whose only requirement for inclusion is that they are indigenous to the planet Earth. I want to praise these animals that we share our environment with, who grace us with mystery and beauty, and whose presence is so vital to the ecosystem.
