Artist Statement: This year I chose to use Legos as a mosaic medium. Legos are fairly light; the colors are bright; they are versatile, attract children (and adults), and much like the buttons, they have nostalgic quality as well. I chose a nature concept, because there are all sorts of creatures to be represented: fish, amphibians, birds. I hope that this piano will be a oasis in the city.
I am currently a full-time artist with select pieces hanging in a gallery in Natick, Massachusetts. This past year I had a show in Southbridge, Massachusetts. I belong to ArtWorcester and currently have a piece hanging at their show Off The Grid. I work with multiple materials in Mosaic for commission and for sale from my website. I am president of the Back Roads Studio Tours, which is a group of fifteen local central Massachusetts artists that put on an open studio tour once yearly in the fall. This past year I had the great honor of creating a Sing for Hope Piano, and it was a very positive and educational experience for me.
