Artist Statement: The artwork that I propose is a metaphor for all humanity. The overlapping and intersecting dots and circles in various sizes and colors represent the entire spectrum of mankind, representing all races, ethnicities and the uniqueness of every individual that has ever existed on the planet.
Anne Bae was born in Ithaca, New York, but spent years living abroad. Growing up, she was always drawn to a variety of creative expressions in the arts and sciences. In college, Bae chose the field of design to further her explorations of form, functionality, and ergonomics, in addition to aesthetics. She studied Fashion and Product Design at Parsons School of Design. Because of Bae's myriad interests, her research and projects inspired her travels to various parts of the world, which challenged and developed her humanity in many ways—philosophically, spiritually and conceptually. This metamorphosis continues, being manifest through her expanding repertoire of creativity, which echoes themes in allegory, metaphor, and symbolism.
