Artist Statement: Love, nature, progress, music... these things sprout up wherever they can. Through the smallest cracks between the weathered planks of this "barnwood" piano springs the new growth of spring folliage. Charming yellow accents make the piece lively and eyecatching, but it is when the piano is played that it, literally and figuratively, springs to life!
Laura Nemerson is a Brooklyn-based interior design professional specializing in the planning, design, and construction of complex healthcare spaces throughout New York City. She is an instructor at the Fashion Institute of Technology and moderates round table discussions evaluating the applicability and durability of innovative, sustainable materials for interior spaces. Ms. Nemerson has built her career around the core belief that art and design can and must affect, enhance, and enliven daily life.
