Artist Statement: "Kaleidoscope" celebrates the beauty of diversity and multiculturalism. New York City, like a kaleidoscope, is made up of millions of different people with different cultures, traditions, and ideas. New York was founded on this concept, and it has only grown larger and more diverse. This piano is symbol for diversity. The piano is made up of a number of portraits that represent the many cultures and people of New York City, taking all of our differences and combining them to form something beautiful. This piano is for everyone and represents everyone. Bright, primary colors and simplified forms make this piano exciting and engaging for anyone passing by."
