Artist Statement: For some people, music is their safe place. Music is an opportunity to be fluid in an otherwise rigid world. Music is an opportunity to evolve, to transition, to realign. Music can be crisp and cool or bendy, flexible and moldable. To me, tie-dye is the personification of all of these things and combined with the fresh breath of a new day, I created a sunrise inspired tie-dye design. The waves of dots – imperfect, textured, or flat – convey the fluidity of the music, but also the possibility of surprises. Like polkadots, present and punctuating, they work together with the sunrise to create the overall energy of peace, love, and harmony.
