Artist Statement: For this project Red tied New York City’s musicians from its past to today. The project features musicians and bands that come from New York as well as people she observed listening to music in the subway. She hopes you enjoy engaging with the piano as much as she enjoyed creating it.

The artist Red is a Manhattan-based artist. She focuses on creating art on wood with ink or burning it. She enjoys the unexpected aspects that can arise due to the wood’s natural grain and pattern. Red has exhibited in Los Angeles and New York.
